Welcome to my nutrition and wellness blog, “Ask Judith.” This blog was inspired by the many questions I’ve been asked (or asked myself) recently and over the years, and I hope it will inspire more questions from readers.
Interested in sustainable food & agriculture? Specialized diets & schools of thought? Want to get some clarity on the controversies in nutrition science and medicine? Or perhaps you’re just wondering how you can possibly afford the time, energy, and money to make nourishing food happen, preferably by this evening.
I’ll also be posting occasionally on news, issues and resources local to my area, the Berkeley and Oakland communities of the San Francisco East Bay.
DISCLAIMER: Walt Whitman must have been blogging about nutrition when he said, “Do I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes.” The multi-faceted mystery of human nourishment, like the human beings who study and write about it, does indeed contain multitudes.
That’s just my fancy way of saying I’m bound to contradict myself, and I reserve the right to do so. (It’s only because I’m so old-school that I let this possibility bother me.) I’ll do my best to shed light where I can, and to change my mind when I learn something new. When I do, you’ll be the first to know. Whether you’ve asked Judith or not.
